Toolbar

The most frequently used commands can be executed from the toolbar.

You can access them with the mouse or use the shortcut keys to quickly execute a command. You can also set the 'Style' of your prototype.

The toolbar commands are:


Icon Action Description Keyboard keys
Change Perspective Switch between design and feedback perspective. The design perspective shows all the functionnalities of Designer and is available when the current prototype is one of yours. The feedback perspective shows a subset of functionnalities. When you open a prototype create by one of yours contacts, the Designer switch the system in that perspective and make this option disabled. Ctrl+P

New Prototype New Prototype... Displays the 'New Prototype' window, where a new prototype can be created. Ctrl+N

Open Prototype Open Prototype... Displays the Open Prototype window, where a prototype can be selected and opened. Ctrl+O

Close Prototype Close Prototype Close the prototype. Save your work and reset Designer to the initial state as when it start. Alt+F+C
Save Project Save Prototype Saves the active prototype with its current filename. Ctrl+S
Alt+F+S
Print Print Form... Displays the system Print dialog box to print the selected form of the prototype. Ctrl+F

Undo Undo Reverses the last command or deletes the last entry typed. Ctrl+Z

Redo Redo Reverses the action of the Undo command. Ctrl+Y

Edit Edit Edit in-place the text or title of the selected item in the structure tree. Ctrl+E
Space bar
Alt+E+E
Cut Cut Deletes the selection and copies it to the clipboard. Ctrl+X
Alt+E+T
Copy Copy Copies the selection to the clipboard. Ctrl+C
Alt+E+C
Paste Paste Inserts the contents of the clipboard. Ctrl+V

Delete Delete Deletes the selection. Delete

Move Up Move Up Moves up the selected item in the structure tree. Ctrl+U

Move Down Move Down Moves down the selected item in the structure tree. Ctrl+W

Run Prototype Run Prototype Launches the prototype no matter what form is selected in the structure tree. The first form in the structure tree is the first one launched. This allows to design a prototype with a dialog box as a start up form, for example. However, if you want to force the launching of the main frame first no matter what its location is in the structure tree, you need to select the checkbox of the property 'Main Frame' in the properties of the main frame. F5
Alt+R+P
Run Form Run Form Launches the selected form in the structure tree. Shift+F5

Login Displays the Login screen to login to the server. When you are logged in, you can commit your work for others to see and you can update the feedbacks received. Alt+C+L
Logout Displays the Logout screen and work in offline mode. Alt+C+G
Toggle Show/Hide Grid Toggle Show/Hide Grid Use to show or hide the grid in the composer. To set the grid, go to the menu Edit - Settings... and select Grid in the window. The settings can be changed in the settings window
Toggle Snap/Unsnap to Grid Toggle Snap/Unsnap to Grid Use to enable or disable the 'snap to grid' functionality in the composer.
Style: Select the style of the prototype.
Expand bottom section Expand Use to expand the bottom section of ProtoLoop. When the bottom section is hidden, select this button once to display it and twice to fill the whole work area. Alt+Plus Sign
Collapse bottom section Collapse Use to collapse the bottom section of ProtoLoop. When the bottom section fills the whole work area, select this button once to display it at the bottom and twice to hide it. Alt+Minus Sign
Help Topic Contextual Help Displays the 'Help' of the the panel having the focus. F1

Table of Contents Help Table of Contents Displays the 'Table of Contents' of the Help system. Shift+F1

Select Style

The 'Style' box let you choose a style for your prototype. When you create a new prototype, there is no style set for it. As an example, you may have a prototype like the following.

To change the style, select one from the list. There is more than 20 that you can choose from.


The result will look like the following in 'Napkin' style.
