Menu bar

Most commands in Designer can be executed from the menus of the menu bar. You can access them with the mouse or use the mnemonics keys. Some commands can also be accessed with the context menus.

You can access them with the mouse or use the shortcut keys to quickly execute a command.

The main menus are:

File menu
Icon	Action	Description	Keyboard keys
	Change Perspective	Switches between design and feedback display or perspective. The design perspective shows all the functionnalities of Designer and is available when the current prototype is one of yours. The feedback perspective shows a subset of functionnalities. When you open a prototype created by one of your contacts, Designer switches the system in that perspective and makes this option disabled.	Ctrl+P Alt+F+P
	New Prototype...	Displays the 'New Prototype' window, where a new prototype can be created.	Ctrl+N Alt+F+N
	Open Prototype...	Displays the Open Prototype window, where a prototype can be selected and opened.	Ctrl+O Alt+F+O
	Close Prototype	saves and closes the active prototype. Designer is reset to the initial state as when it starts.	Alt+F+C
	Rename Prototype...	Displays the dialog box wehre you can enter a new name for the active prototype.	Alt+F+R
	Delete Prototype...	Deletes the active prototype.	Alt+F+D
	Save Prototype	Saves the modifications you have done to your prototype. A save is done for you every time you run, close, print a prototype and before you open, rename, save as and create a new prototype. If you work a lot and didn't make one of these operations, you may want to save your work periodically.	Ctrl+S Alt+F+S
	Save Prototype As...	Displays the Save Prototype As window, where the active prototype can be saved under a different name. If a prototype with this name exists, you are prompted to enter a different name.	Alt+F+A
	Print Form...	Displays the system Print dialog box to print the selected form of the prototype.	Ctrl+F Alt+F+F
	Print All Forms...	Displays the system Print Dialog Box to print all the forms of the prototype.	Alt+F+T
	Exit	Displays the 'Exit ProtoLoop' window. It saves the work and closes Designer.	Alt+F4 Alt+F+X

Edit menu

	Undo	Reverses the last command or deletes the last entry that was typed.	Ctrl+Z Alt+E+U
	Redo	Reverses the action of the Undo command.	Ctrl+Y Alt+E+R
	Edit	Edit in-place the text or title of the selected item in the structure tree.	Ctrl+E Space bar Alt+E+E
	Cut	Deletes the selection and copies it to the clipboard.	Ctrl+X Alt+E+T
	Copy	Copies the selection to the clipboard.	Ctrl+C Alt+E+C
	Paste	Inserts the contents of the clipboard.	Ctrl+V Alt+E+P
	Delete	Deletes the selection.	Delete Alt+E+D
	Move Up	Moves up the selected item in the structure tree.	Ctrl+U Alt+E+M
	Move Down	Moves down the selected item in the structure tree.	Ctrl+W Alt+E+W
	Settings	Displays the Settings window, where identity, grid and confirmations options can be set.	Alt+E+S

View menu

Run menu
Icon	Action	Description	Keyboard keys
	Run Prototype	Launches the prototype no matter what form is selected in the structure tree. The first form in the structure tree is the first one launched. This allows to design a prototype with a dialog box as a start up form, for example. However, if you want to force the launching of the main frame first no matter where it is located in the structure tree, you need to select the checkbox of the property 'Main Frame' in the properties of the main frame item. 	Run Form	Launches the selected form in the structure tree.	Shift+F5 Alt+R+F
	Shows Notes	Either shows or hides notes while executing the prototype.	Alt+R+S

Communication menu
Icon	Action	Description	Keyboard keys
	Login	Displays the Login window to login to the server. When you are logged in, you can commit your work for others to see and you can update the feedbacks received.	Alt+C+L
	Logout	Displays the Logout screen to work in offline mode.	Alt+C+G
	Invites Contacts	Displays the Invite Contact window, where you invite people to join you to participate in yours projects.	Alt+C+I
	Verify Invitations	Displays the Verify Invitations window, where you respond to invitations that people send you to join and participate in theirs projects.	Alt+C+V
	Verify Confirmations	Displays the Verify Confirmations window, where you see acknowlegment of invitations you have done to people to join you to participate in yours projects.	Alt+C+C

Look and Feel menu

	About ProtoLoop Designer	Displays the About window, where information about the product, the company and copyright can be found.	Alt+H+A

Context menus appear when you right-click on a particular tree item in the structure tree or on a control in the composer.
